. a major investigation by the los angeles times charges the organization actively concealed numerous cases of child molestation among leaders. kron 4's grant lodes has more. >> reporter: he admitted to molesting more than a dozen scouts. they learned of the abuse in 1979 but never notified police. instead he resigned. moved to columbia and continued abusing children for more than a decade. hundreds of documents containing the black list of molesters. allegations of abuse by victims, parents, staff members or tips. in 80% of the cases police were never notified and in 25% of those sought to conceal the abuse or allow the suspect to hide it. instead of involving police, they were sent form letters, assuring them the boy scouts will not release this information to anyone and our action will in no way effect your standing in the community. >> the boy scouts will not comment on the allegation but the group says it updated its policy and all reports of abuse are now reported to police. our team coverage continues now. two of the boy scouts leaders were from northern california. kron 4's terisa e
